PHENIX CITY, AL (WXTX) - Fox 54 is following developments in the shooting death of a Phenix City woman.
Phenix City Police say they received a call around 8:00 p.m. Monday about a person being shot in a home on Jason Drive in the Ridgebrook subdivision.
When they arrived they found 32-year-old Felisha Ezell dead with a gunshot wound in the back.
Assistant Chief Robert Casteel of the Phenix City Police Department says her husband, 36-year-old Adrian Ezell, alerted police after allegedly pulling the trigger.
"When we arrived, he told us where the body was and said he didn't mean to do it," said Casteel.
Adrian Ezell was arrested and charged with homicide. Casteel says the couple was arguing, but it is not known at this time why they were arguing.
Felisha Ezell owned and operated Hair Pro's Beauty Salon on Buena Vista Road in Columbus, GA.
Just a few doors down from Pro's Beauty Salon, stylists inside Chosen Beauty Salon are hurting. " I can't believe it. I am in shock," said Neicy Grant, owner and operator, "She didn't deserve that. She was a sweet girl."
Others who worked with Felisha describe her as dedicated and hardworking. One woman says she knew something was wrong when her business was closed. "I looked and opened the door and I didn't feel right. I didn't think anything until someone came up and told me what happened," said Melva Roberts.
Felisha leaves behind three children who, Casteel says, were not home at the time of the murder.
The case is being investigated by Criminal Investigation Division of the Phenix City Police Department.
