37 warrants executed in Sumter County, GA

Press Release

On June 23, 2010, several law enforcement agencies met at the Sumter County LEC in regards to assisting the State Probation Office, Americus Georgia in executing approximately 37 arrest warrants in Sumter County. 

These warrants were issued by Superior Court, within the Southwestern Judicial Circuit.  

These warrants were issued for persons already on felony probation that had committed new offenses ranging from additional criminal charges to non-compliance for their respective terms of probation.

This enforcement action consisted of several agencies within Sumter County. 

They are State Probation, Sumter County Sheriff's Office, Americus Police Department and the Department of Corrections.  Assistance was also given by the U.S. Marshals Service, representing the Albany and Macon Fugitive Task Force.
