COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) –  A Columbus employer is adding more jobs to the area.

Thursday, NCR announced it will create 90 new jobs -- that's in additional to 800 jobs initially created when it moved to Columbus last year.

City officials say they are excited about putting residents back to work.

Recently, the company started producing new products and it has added a new customer help desk – both of which will be located in Corporate Ridge Business Park.

While this is good news, we are told the company has already begun filling some of the positions.

More than 30 of the 90 jobs are still available.

"It is exciting to see the growth at NCR," said Mike Gaymon, president and CEO of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce. "In a year since they located was in Columbus they are expanding their product lines and adding a call center creating new jobs for the region. The announcement today validates that the tremendous commitment and hard work from the Columbus Development Authority, the Columbus Consolidated Government and the Chamber was worth it all. This is a testimony to our public private partnership that made their location here possible."

NCR will be manufacturing a new ATM machine and Blockbuster Express kiosks.
