Columbus woman hit in drive-by shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus woman is recovering tonight after a being struck by a bullet during a drive-by shooting.

Police say the 21-year-old victim was shot in the left thigh in a South Columbus street early Saturday.

It happened near the intersection of North Lumpkin Road and Thornton Drive, not far from Cusseta Road just before 4 AM.

She describes the suspect as a black man wearing an army jacket and a black mask over his face but could not describe his car.

The woman was taken to the Columbus Regional Medical Center by a friend for treatment where she reported the incident to officers. She is listed in stable condition.
