COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Police are looking for a gunman who allegedly confronted a South Columbus business owner as he was closing up for the night.

It happened Monday night around 7:30 at Nikki's Tax and Financial Services on Torch Hill Road.

The owner, 58-year-old Carl Dickerson, says he was at his business when a woman came in asking to cash a check around 7:15 PM.

Dickerson refused to cash it and a short time later, closed his business and got inside his truck in the parking lot.

That's when Dickerson says a man approached his car, pointed a pistol at him and demanded the check back.

The victim describes the gunman as a black man in his 30s, 5'7"-5'8" 160 lbs. with dreadlocks and a brown knit hat, clean shaven.
