Teen hit in leg in drive-by shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus teen is recovering after being struck by a bullet in a drive-by shooting.

It happened Tuesday morning around 1:30.

Nineteen-year-old DeVette Jackson tells police he was walking on 1st Avenue near 5th  Street when he was approached by unknown vehicle and shot by a black man in the upper thigh.

Jackson describes the gunman's car as a Chevy Corsica with faded paint, blue or grey in color.

The victim is listed in fair condition at the Columbus Regional Medical Center.
