Altercation leads to Aggravated Assault Charges

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A casual stroll down Broadway Street following a nightclub outing turned violent for a man.  It happened around 1:30 Friday morning. Columbus police said a woman, while walking with her boyfriend pulled out a cigarette and asked for a 'light'.  A man nearby offered to give her a lighter.

The boyfriend reportedly pulled out a pocket knife and allegedly cut the man in the upper right side.  Police tell News Leader 9, the wound was superficial.  The unidentified victim refused treatment by paramedics.  The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, according to police. No names have been released.
