COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Two men are behind bars and one woman is injured after a shootout on Wade Street Thursday night. News Leader Nine spoke with witnesses and learned how the crossfire shook up their south Columbus neighborhood.

"I noticed he kept looking around and watching and I was getting up to go in the house and when I looked back I saw him pull out the pistol and I turned to run back in and that's when I got hit," Sibbie Welch says she became a victim in her own front yard.

Columbus Police say she was caught in the crossfire of a shootout between two men. Reports show 20 year old Donald Bush was shooting at 22 year old Delmorris Boyd when Boyd fired back.

Overall, nine rounds were fired, before police say the suspects ran away from the scene. Neighbors say they are just thankful no one else was hurt.

"He didn't care who was out here, he just went pow pow pow. I dove behind the car, that's when I heard her call my name and I knew she was shot. But I couldn't get to her because bullets were flying off the walls," Randall Burks told News Leader Nine.

Welch added, "I looked down on the floor and saw all the blood and I panicked. I thought more than just me got shot."

People who live in the area say they are shaken up and it will be quite a while before they get over this crime.

Welch said if she could say anything to the suspect who shot her in the leg she would say, "He's a coward. He could have taken my life, these kids' lives, or any other adult's lives. He didn't care, he just went to shooting and didn't care who he shot."

Doctors released Welch from the hospital Thursday night so she can recover from her injury at home.

Donald Bush and Delmorris Boyd are both being held in the Muscogee County Jail. They will appear in Recorder's Court Saturday morning at 9:00.
