Gov. Perdue names attorney to fill Chattahoochee Superior Court seat

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – News Leader 9 has learned the governor of Georgia has selected an attorney to replace a seat in Chattahoochee Superior Court.

Governor Sonny Perdue has selected William Rumer, a Columbus attorney, to replace outgoing judge Robert Johnston.

Judge Johnston stepped down from his post in March due to health reasons.

The following is a list of judicial appointments made by the governor this week across the state:

Cherokee County State Court
Allen "Dee" Morris - Assistant District Attorney, Appalachian Judicial Circuit

Clayton County State Court
Aaron Mason - Assistant Attorney General, Georgia Department of Law

Chattahoochee Superior Court
Bill Rumer - Rumer ∙ Gunby, LLP

Richmond County State Court
John Flythe - Associate Judge, Grovetown Municipal Court

Douglas County State Court
James "Eddie" Barker – Assistant District Attorney, Douglas County

Long County State Court
Jeffery Arnold –Arnold, Stafford, Randolph
