COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - "There's no words to describe what type of person would do this. He violated my home. He violated my love."
A Columbus man says his family's world has been turned upside down by a rapist who targeted his 27-year-old wife and mother of their 2 small children.
He asked us not to show his face and distort his voice as he revealed chilling details about the attack Monday.
He says his wife went to check the mail at their Sonoma Pointe home off Blackmon Road June 23rd and came back inside to do chores.
"The man was standing there in the kitchen and told her if she screamed, he would kill her. He grabbed her and drug her into my bedroom. On the way, he picked up an ashtray and knocked her in the head with it. He used an electrical cord to tie her hands up to the bed post," he said.
Last week, Columbus Police released a sketch of the suspect. The victim's husband wants other women to be on guard since he's still on the loose and he asks everyone to take a good, hard look at the drawing his wife helped create after she was assaulted.
"The last thing this sicko said to her was, 'Before you try to untie yourself, give me time to get away.' This guy is still out there. He can show up at your door. You never know," the victim's husband added.
The victim in this case is staying out of town with family members as she continues to recover.
