Lee County accepting votes for best friends calendar

Press Release

AUBURN, AL - The Lee County Humane Society is now accepting votes for the 2011 Best Friends Calendar.  The Best Friends Calendar is a celebration of local pets and helps raise money for the animals at the shelter.

Over 50 entries were submitted into the contest, and the pet who receives the most votes will be featured on the cover of the calendar.  The next ten pets who receive the highest amount of votes will be featured in the calendar as a pet of the month.  A local artist will chose the most artistic entry to be featured as a "Best in Show Pet of the Month."  Each vote costs $1.00, and there is no limit to the amount of votes that can be submitted per pet.  All donations to the Lee County Humane Society are tax-deductible.

Voting is available online at  www.leecountyhumane.org and at the shelter.   Voting will end September 11 at the Lee County Humane Society's 10th annual Woofstock celebration.  Calendars will be sold at the shelter and around the area in late fall.  All proceeds from the 2011 Best Friends Calendar will benefit the shelter's general operating fund which sustains the shelter animals' basic food, medical, and welfare needs.
