PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -  A nationwide singing competition is giving one Phenix City church choir the chance to show off their talents at a Philips Arena in Atlanta. They could also win up to $25,000!

For years the choir at the Body of Christ Church International have fine tuned their voices for Sunday morning services, but now they are reaching higher.

Pastor of the Body of Christ Church, Dr. G. Keith Blue told News Leader Nine, "We heard about the competition through BET and some advertisements and we decided to enter it this year. This competition is a nationwide competition that gives choirs all over the country a chance to show their talents and we are just blessed to be a part of it."

The choir entered a video of one of their performances and were chosen to represent in the Atlanta, Georgia regional section.

Maudie Scott has been a member of the "Voices of the Kingdom Choir" for 18 years and is thrilled to show off their talents, "It's a wonderful experience. We have a choir director that gives us the tools to perfect this music."

Scott says they may be up against some of the best choirs around, but they know their faith will shine through their songs, "We're big at heart, but small in number. We're glad to be a part of it."

"It's amazing for our church because we're competing against churches in Atlanta with 15,000 to 20,000 people and we only have about 500 people," Pastor Blue added.

Although the choir has had to put in more time an energy to prepare for the competition, Scott says she's enjoying every second of it, "Just getting together and letting the world know it's not just about singing, it's about performing for our audience of one, which is Christ."

The voting for the choir competition started Sunday morning. For those of you who want to vote for them, you can register and cast your ballot once a day until August 1st at
