COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police were busy responding to four burglaries early Monday morning. It started around 2:00 am and lasted until 5:00 am.

Police were called to the New Life Tanning Salon on Gentian Boulevard, The Hollywood Nail and Salon and the Coin Laundry both on Veterans Parkway.  The latest incident happened in the 6200 block of Macon Road at undisclosed location.

Burglars broke out the glass door to the New Life Tanning Salon on Gentian. The owners quickly boarded up the door as a temporary repair.  Police did not say what if any thing was taken.

The Hollywood Nail Studio and Spa burglary was very similar.  You could see the concrete block sitting on the floor that the burglars used to smash-in the glass door.

Police also tell News Leader 9, they caught a juvenile in the act at the Coin Laundry on Veterans Parkway.  Officers say the 15-year-old boy was trying to enter the building by going through the roof. He reportedly tried to make a run for it, but police caught him.  He was arrested.

The four break-ins are the latest in a rash of business burglaries where smashing in the front glass door seems to be a common thread.  More than a dozen other stores have fallen victim to these types of burglaries.

If you have any information about the rash of burglaries, call Columbus Police at 706-653-3400.
