COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Columbus Police are investigating a bold robbery that happened in the middle of the day in a busy shopping center parking lot.

It happened at the Landings off Airport Thruway Tuesday just before 1 PM near Fuddruckers restaurant.

Investigators say the 50-year-old victim was sitting in his car when three men came up, busted out his windows with a metal object, held the metal object to his neck and robbed him. Police say the robbers also disabled the victim's car so he could not follow them.

Then, detectives say they drove off in a 2002-2004 Chevy Impala either tan or gold in color and possibly missing tags.

The victim was not injured. He describes one of the suspects as a white man, 5'7" 150 lbs, wearing a blue shirt and ski mask.

Police say there were some witnesses to the crime but they're hoping others who were at the shopping center at the time of the robbery and may have seen something will come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Columbus investigators at 706-653-3400.
