TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) – The Troup County School Board is asking for the public's help in choosing a new superintendent.

Last month, Troup County Schools superintendent Dr. Ed Smith notified officials of his plans to retire.

However, he was asked by school officials to return for three months to help them through the transition of finding his replacement.

Dr. Ed Smith has been with the school system for 16 years.

Meanwhile, Troup County Schools has posted a survey on its website about qualifications the public thinks are needed for the new hire.
