Several neighborhoods to take part in National Night Out

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) –  The Columbus Police Department and other nearby agencies are making final preparations for National Night Out.

National Night Out will be held at various locations across the U.S. on August 3rd.

The annual Event started in 1984 and has brought together local law enforcement and anti-crime organizations to make their communities safer. has compiled a list of each area neighborhoods participating in National Night Out:

Columbus, GA:

Team A
6:00 p.m. – Leave Civic Center Parking Lot
6:15 p.m. – Lindsey Creek Subdivision, Adahalia Mack Center (Hotdogs)
6:40 p.m. – Urban Heights, Doyle and Forrest Road (Refreshments)
7:15 p.m. – Forrest Park, Dorsey Dr. and Pine Valley (Hamburgers and Hotdogs)
7:40 p.m.-- Heritage Place, Blackmon and Warm Springs Rd. (Cookout)

Team B
6:00 p.m. – Leave Civic Center Parking Lot
6:05 p.m. -- Liberty Gardens Apartments, 675 6th Avenue, Office (BBQ)
6:15 p.m. -- Winterfield/WOTMAD, Kendrick Ave./Lumpkin Ct. (Cookout)
6:40 p.m. – St. Elmo/Lakebottom, St. Elmo School (Refreshments)
7:15 p.m. – East Highland/HEHRD, 23rd Street and 14th Avenue (Refreshments)
7:40 p.m. – ORAD/LGAD. 930 31st Street (Refreshments)
