Man behind bars for allegedly striking man on bike

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - New details are emerging in an unusual hit and run case in Columbus. This, as the victim's family says he is still in the hospital undergoing reconstructive surgeries for his injuries.

Police arrested Tyrone Brown in connection with the crime.

Columbus investigators tell News Leader 9 Alphonso Carter, the victim in this case, has severe facial injuries after he was intentionally hit by a car while riding his bicycle on Andrews Road on July 22.

Detectives say the injuries to the 28-year-old's face are so bad, he has not been able to speak with them about the incident

Brown was scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court on Wednesday, but his appearance was continued because the victim was unable to appear in court to testify.
