Drugs found at W. Georgia shipping company

TROUP COUNTY, GA - The Troup County Sheriff's Canine Unit was dispatched to a local shipping company Saturday in reference to a report of 2 suspected packages possibly containing narcotics.

After arriving on scene, the K-9 unit was directed to a location having several miscellaneous packages, to attempt to detect the presence of illegal narcotics.

After a walk-through of the packages, the K-9 unit did alert on 2 packages bound for a destination in another state. The packages were found to contain 4.5 ounces of marijuana in one box and 1 pound and one point eight ounces of marijuana in the other.

No arrests have yet been made, as this case is still under investigation.
