W. Georgia man faces charges of animal cruelty

LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) – LaGrange Police says a man is behind bars for abusing a kitten.

According to reports, William Story struck a small black kitten several times, then placed it along with a small gray kitten along a railroad without food or water.

The black kitten was found motionless and the lethargic, but it is now recovering.

The gray kitten has not been found.

Story is charged in the case.

During the investigation, Wanda Owens was arrested for hindering officers by lying about the incident.

Owens is charged with obstruction. Both Story and Owens are being held in the Troup County Jail until a bond hearing.
