PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – Three men are behind bars, facing charges in connection with a drug bust at two Phenix City homes, located right next to one another.

It all went down on 6th Street South on the city's south side as officers showed up with warrants Thursday afternoon.

Phenix City investigators along with members of the Russell County Narcotics Task Force say found a stolen pistol and several thousand dollars worth of powder cocaine inside the adjacent houses.

The three suspects arrested at the scene are facing charges of trafficking cocaine, according to police.

"We have had anonymous complaints about drug sales at this residence but we've also recently received information that there was a stolen gun at the residence. So based on that urgent information, we wanted to get that gun off the streets," said Lieutenant George Staudinger, investigator with the Phenix City Police Department.

The suspects are in custody and are being processed by police.

The drugs and weapon have been seized by authorities.
