COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  It seems burglaries are becoming more common these days, but some business owners say they are fed up with losing their property. News Leader Nine found one business owner who says recent break-ins have pushed him to take stricter security measures.

"I'm fed up with it, I'm going to do whatever it takes to catch this guy and I wish everyone else will do the same." Third time is not a charm for Randy Prather, that's how many times his business has been victim to burglary.

The owner of Randy Prather Building and Remodeling said, "The guy pulled up here, parked his car right behind this fence, jumped over the barbed wire, took a couple ladders from over here, stole a ladder that was over there, picked up these big coils of wire and loaded them onto his car, then took all the stuff out of here"

Prather's company lost five ladders and more than 250 feet of wire, equaling $2,000, "We're just a small business trying to make a living and when anything like this happens with the economy like it is now, it kills us."

The thieves keep getting in despite the business putting up barbed wire and cameras.

"Plus we have an alarm system inside if they get in, it'll go off and we have cameras inside and out front. I don't know what else we can do to prevent anyone from doing this," said Prather.

And now he's putting all his effort into getting justice for this crime. If you recognize the man in this surveillance video, you are asked to call the Columbus Police Department at (706)653-3400.
