Hyundai Heavy Industries sets date for ground breaking ceremony

MONTGOMERY, AL - Hyundai Heavy Industries announces a ground breaking ceremony to take place on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

The event will be held at the future site of the company's first American manufacturing facility at Interstate Industrial Park in Montgomery, Alabama.

The announcement follows news that the Korean-based company chose Montgomery for its first American plant last July. The selection will bring 480 new jobs to the area, along with a capital investment of $90 million.

Alabama Governor Bob Riley, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange, Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean, and representatives from Elmore County, Prattville and Greenville will join Hyundai Heavy Industries CEO & President Jai-seong Lee and other company officials at the official Ground Breaking Ceremony.
