Columbus police investigate 3 overnight robberies

COLUMBUS, GA  – Columbus Police are investigating three armed robberies that occurred Monday night and Tuesday morning.

A victim told police around 10:00 p.m. Monday, four to six men jumped him, fired some shots and struck him in the head with a 2 x 4. The victim sustained bruises, cuts and a few missing teeth.

Reports indicate the suspects got away with $300 in cash and some credit cards. No other details about this incident are known.

Around midnight Tuesday, a couple was robbed at gunpoint in a car wash parking lot at 100 North Oakley drive.

The victims told police a black man wearing all black, a mask and carrying a black revolver approached them demanding money. Police reports indicate nothing was taken and no one was injured in that incident.

Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 22-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by another woman at the intersection of 8th Street and 3rd Avenue. The victim told police she was approached by a woman who goes by the name of "Sue".

The suspect is described as a skinny black woman with puffy eyes and in her 40s. She was wearing a dark colored do-rag, a hat and a white t-shirt with "Chris" written on the front in black permanent marker. Nothing was taken in this incident.
