Crime Stoppers: Carjacking

COLUMBUS, GA - Police are seeking information concerning the theft of a motor vehicle from the Checkers Restaurant on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:20 p.m.

The Victim and her three children were from out of town and stopped at Checkers Restaurant to order food. The victim exited her vehicle, left the youngest child in the car seat, the doors were unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle.

An unknown suspect entered and started the vehicle then drove towards Stark Avenue. The victim chased the vehicle -- yelling for the suspect to stop. The suspect did stop and abandon the vehicle in the 1300 block of Stark Avenue.

The 3-year-old child was not injured and there was no damage to the vehicle. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Surveillance video has been obtained with suspect information.

Black male
Early 20's
190 lbs
Bald head
Dark skin
Orange and yellow striped shirt with blue design on right sleeve
Dark blue Dickie shorts
White quarter-high basketball shoes
