82 World War II Veterans Board Honor Flight to D.C.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) --  82 World War II Veterans from Southwest Georgia and East Alabama boarded a Miami Air flight to Washington, D.C. for a day of commemoration and remembrance.

The honor flight for the retired soldiers will take them to the nations' World War II memorial along with other historical monuments They will return at 9 ET.

Flights cost roughly $72,000 each and are made possible through donations from local businesses and individuals.
