All clear given after small leak discovered at AU's pharmacy building

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) –  The all clear was given just after noon Thursday when a gas cylinder with a small leak was removed from Auburn's pharmacy building.

The Walker Pharmacy Building at Auburn University was evacuated around 8:30 Thursday morning after a small leak was discovered in a hydrogen chloride gas cylinder in a laboratory.

First responders, including the Lee County Hazardous Materials Team, contained and removed the cylinder.

There was no immediate danger to the campus community, but the building and area surrounding the building were evacuated and cordoned off as an extra precaution.

The building has been returned to normal operations.
