Suspect waives rights, victim speaks out

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  We have new details in a drive-by shooting. Seventeen-year-old Dionta Turpin waived his preliminary hearing and now the case is headed to Superior Court.

Turpin is accused of the aggravated-assault and hijacking of 28-year-old Christopher Williams. The incident happened around 4:00 a.m. Saturday on Ticknor Drive in Columbus.

Williams suffered three gunshot wounds to the head and one to the hand.

Monday morning a judge denied Turpin bond on the aggravated assault and hijacking charges.

Williams faces additional charges:

Firearm possession
Obstructing an officer
Driving without a license
Fleeing/leaving the scene
No proof of insurance
