Man placed in choke hold, told to empty pockets

LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) –  The LaGrange Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in finding a suspect behind an armed robbery.

The armed robbery occurred Monday around 3:00 a.m. on South Greenwood Street near Miller Street in LaGrange.

The victim told police an unidentified man approached him from behind while he was walking and placed am object in his back.

The suspect then placed him in a choke hold using the victim's own arm.

The victim was allegedly dragged to the ground, at which time the suspect demanded the victim empty his pockets.

The suspect fled on foot with the victim's wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured in this incident.

Meanwhile, the LaGrange Police Department and Troup County Crime Stoppers are asking the public to help them find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6 foot tall, muscular build, and wearing a dark colored shirt and a white ball cap.

Family members of the victims are concerned for the safety of the community, as are new members of the Clemency Board. CBS 5 Investigates videotaped Huff riding a bike through his Tucson neighborhood. There are no restrictions placed on his proximity to children.
