COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  News Leader 9 is following an armed robbery that occurred around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday in Columbus.

The Columbus Police Department says it is looking for the two suspects who robbed Mr. B's Beer, Liquor and Wine Store on 13th Street.

We are told the men were armed with a sawed-off shotgun and a hang gun.  They have confirmed shots were fired Wednesday night on the scene at Mr. B's between an officer and the suspects. Investigators tell us no one was injured.

Wednesday night officers probed the Midtown area for the duo and a police helicopter assisted in the search.

Investigators believe the two men maybe connected to an armed robbery at a liquor store that occurred on September 17th in 3800 block of Macon Road.

In that robbery, two men entered the store with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed the business, then fled with money, liquor and cigarettes.  [Read "Crime Stoppers: Liquor store armed robbery"]
