COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus teenager charged in a murder case has been granted bond.

Seventeen-year-old Shannon Fields has been in jail since June after turning himself in to police in connection with the deadly shooting of Wayman Glenn James Jr.

Prosecutors say James had been at a party at a Decatur Court apartment complex and flashed money, at which time he was set up to be robbed by other men in attendance.

According to the state, Fields and another man, Willie Jones, wore masks and were armed- Fields with a pistol and Jones with a shotgun when James was robbed of a few thousand dollars, shot with the shotgun and killed.

Fields' attorney Stacey Jackson says the teen, a student at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, has an alibi witness and no prior criminal record.

Judge John Allen, Chief Judge of Muscogee County Superior Court, granted Fields a $30,000 bond until his trial under certain conditions: He has to stay with his grandmother and cannot leave the property except to go to school and meet with his attorney.

He is also prohibited from having contact with any witnesses in the case.

Fields has pleaded not guilty to his charges.

Meanwhile, Columbus Police are still looking for 34-year-old Willie Jones. He is described as being around 5'10, weighing 160 pounds and having tattoos on his arm and chest. We are told that he also goes by the name of "Jack".  [Read: Crime Stoppers needs help finding murder suspect]
