Suspect arrested in Auburn homicide

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - The Auburn Police Department tells News Leader 9 a man is behind bar following an early morning homicide.

Authorities arrested 27-year-old Prince Nellon at his home Opelika, AL Friday afternoon . He is accused of murdering 24-year-old Kressman Jackson. 

The incident took place around 1:20 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex on North Dean Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they say they found Jackson of Opelika with a gun shot wound to the chest. 

Nellon is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center. Investigators have not determined a motive for the murder.

The case is being investigated by the Auburn Police Department, the Lee County Coroner's Office and the State Examiner's Office.
