COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  At least fifteen members of this church were injured and four are dead after a Sunday night van crash. One of those victims is the pastor of Tabernacle of Prayer and Deliverance Church, Pastor Ronmyka Williams.  [Read: Church van crashes, pastor and young passengers killed]

One of the pastor's long-time friends, David Smotherman Jr. said, "Once you meet him, you can't forget meeting him."

And nearly 24 hours after the crash that claimed his life, many are remembering the church leader.

"I was waiting for "no it wasn't him", but once I found out it was true, it hit me real hard. We were like brothers," explained Smotherman.

People like Timothy Whitaker, who didn't even know the pastor, are mourning this loss, "Hearing this, I just wanted to come over and be supportive to anyone that I could."

Williams and his wife, Timika started the church in 2006 and just recently moved their small congregation to this location.

A fellow Columbus pastor and friend of the Williams, Percy Roberson told News Leader Nine, "I believe he had close to 30 or 35 members. The majority of the people were on the trip."

But several church members won't make it back home.

Roberson added, "It's one thing to lose one family member, but to lose several and then your pastor and children that are hurt in this. We as a body of Christ need to come together and throw our arms around one another, that's what we really need to do now."
