PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - We have new details in a story WTVM has been following from the beginning: the dispute between Phenix City's School Board and the city council.
We told you Tuesday that Phenix City Council members took time at the end of their meeting to address some on-going issues they have with the Phenix City School Board.

Now we're laying those out on the table. The first issue is the topic of asking the school system to help with the expenses of the newly renovated Garrett-Harrison Stadium.
The council also wants to discuss the school system's contract with the Lyle Company, and an outstanding debt for their work on the Freshman Academy.
Next on the list is the question of furniture for the schools being purchased from the company Superintendent Larry DiChiara's wife works for.
Council wants to look into a possible ethics violation for work one of the high school's career tech program did on a vehicle that belongs to the superintendent.
Another issue is reports of 75 supplemental salaries for employees throughout the school district.
City council members also want to bring up complaints they have heard from outside sources of nepotism. They say people on the school board have family members working in Phenix City schools, and some see that as unfair.
The final, and what some would say is the most outrageous claim made by the council is inappropriate relationships within the schools... Relationships between teachers and teachers, teachers and students and the superintendent and administrators.
We spoke on the phone with Superintendent Dr. Larry DiChiara Wednesday who is out of town on business. He says he and the school board members are not prepared at this time to respond to those allegations, but they are making plans to release comments. Of course News Leader Nine will let you know when that happens.
