COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Columbus Police are looking for a suspect they say attacked and robbed a man on the Riverwalk.

It happened Thursday night around 9:30 on 5th Street.

The 31-year-old victim tells police he was approached by a black man who said "Gimme your s**t."

Edwards says he was confused and the suspect hit him across his face with an unknown object and took his wallet and jewelry.

Edwards was taken to Doctor's Hospital for treatment for open wounds on his mouth.

The suspect is described as being in his mid 20s, 5'10, 180 lbs, wearing all black clothing.

Columbus Police are also searching for the suspect or suspects burglarized a local business-- not for money but for a fence.

It happened at Buena Vista Partners Thursday night on Old Brown Avenue.

The building manager tells officers that nothing was taken from inside the building, even though there was a hole in the wall.

Instead, he noticed 75 feet of chain link fence was taken from outside.
