Teen turns self in following shooting at apartment complex

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – News Leader 9 has learned a 17-year-old male juvenile turned himself in to Phenix City Police Friday in connection with a recent shooting.

We are told the shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Sumbry Hills Apartment complex in Phenix City.

Police say the suspect got into a fight with the male victim.

Witnesses allegedly told police the teen was intoxicated, got angry, then ran to his car to get a handgun.

The teen allegedly fired shots. A female victim as shot in the right side of her face near her eye and a male was shot in the left leg and in the finger.

The victims were taken to the Columbus Medical Center. Although their conditions are unknown at this time, it appears their injuries are non-life threatening.
