Additional Muscogee Co. schools make AYP

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County School District is making progress as more final AYP, Annual Yearly Progress, results have been released for 2010. 

In July, preliminary reports indicated 23 schools did not make the grade.

After retests and final tabulations, 10 of those 23 schools have been removed off the non performing list to AYP status.

Those schools include:

    COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Lee County Sheriff's Department and EMS officials responded to a call about a man who was found to be unresponsive during a hunting trip.  51-year-old Edward Martin Jr. was found Friday night around 7 p.m. at the bottom of a tree he was posted at while hunting.  The Lee County Sheriff's Department and EMS made it to the scene at 7:41 p.m. and pronounced Martin dead at the scene.  Officials say it appears he fell from about 18 to 20 feet to ...
