The Medical Center's Stroke Program
The Medical Center's stroke program is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission, a nationally recognized accreditation organization. The Medical Center is a certified, full-service primary stroke center that offers around-the-clock neurosurgical coverage and pharmacy.
The Medical Center's stroke program, which is a component of the Columbus Regional Brain and Spine Center, consists of a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals specially trained in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of stroke.
The program provides neurosurgical treatment for hemorrhagic strokes as well as ischemic strokes, and an Acute Stroke and Rapid Response Team offers immediate assessment and intervention that can minimize a patient's functional impairment.
