Halloween safety

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - It is a holiday where kids take candy from strangers. Something usually forbidden by parents.

On Halloween it is important to know who is behind the door your child will knock on.

The Phenix City Police Department has a large map posted in their lobby, with the locations of all registered sex offenders.  Phenix City Police Assistant Chief Bobby Casteel said they posted the locations so, "they can know their neighbors and their neighborhood and keep children safe."

You can also check online for the location of registered sex offenders.  Click here for a list of where sex offenders live in your neighborhood.

Halloween will be observed October 30th from 6-9 p.m. in Phenix City.
