FBI tracks fugitive to Marion County

MARION COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -  A Missouri man is behind bars in Marion County after FBI agents say he kidnapped his six-year-old son.

FBI agents arrested 30-year-old Joseph Brown without incident at an unknown location Wednesday night. He was not armed.

Agents say they tracked Brown to rural Marion County after receiving information from an unknown source.

According to officials, Brown faces a weapon charge stemming from a previous incident but was also wanted for kidnapping.

His six-year-old son had been with him for five weeks. Agents say Brown picked the child up at a prearranged custody exchange with his ex-wife and left the area.

Brown says his ex-wife was not allowing him to see his child.

The little boy was located unharmed with Brown in Marion County.

His mother in flying in from Missouri to be reunited with him.

Joseph Brown is being held in the Marion County Jail as a fugitive from justice and will be extradited back to Missouri in the new few days to face his charges.
