COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police are searching for three men who held up a local dollar store and even robbed a child in the process.

It happened around 3 PM Wednesday at the Family Dollar Store on Veterans Parkway near River Road.

Investigators say three men wearing bandanas over most of their faces confronted the store's manager demanding money. According to police, two of the men were armed and the suspects grabbed money out of several of the cash registers.

Officials say one of the employees managed to close the office door and call police as the robbery was going on but the suspects got away before officers got there.

During the robbery, investigators say the gunmen also robbed a 10-year-old boy at the store of all the money he had. Reports indicate the child was threatened at gunpoint near the front door of the store.

The suspects were last seen running back across River Road.

They are described as:

Black man, 6'0, 160 lbs., wearing jeans, a dark long-sleeve shirt, a dark bandana on his face and carrying a pistol.

Hispanic man, 5'10, 125 lbs., wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt, dark pants, bandana on his face and a ball cap.

Black man, 5'10, 125 lbs., wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, tan ball cap, bandana on his face and carrying a pistol.

No one was injured.

Officials say at this point, they don't see a connection to the armed robbery at the Family Dollar Store on Farr Road from this past weekend.
