CHAMBERS COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - The man accused of kidnapping and raping an 80-year-old Valley, Alabama woman stands before a Judge Monday.
The elderly victim was in the courtroom Monday, no stranger to being a crime victim, and we learned in court her alleged rapist has also been in trouble with the law before.
James Pollard pleads guilty to all three charges against him Monday morning in Judge Ray Martin's Chambers County Court.
Pollard admitted to kidnapping, raping and sodomizing 80-year-old Della Milner from Valley last July 31st.
Milner sat quietly with her head down as Pollard's defense attorney described that late summer evening, where he took Milner from her Valley store, shoved her in his truck and drove towards Lee County. That's where they say he parked his truck, raped and sodomized Milner.
The prosecution revealed in court, Pollard is a previous convicted felon, convicted of rape and assault.
And Milner was the victim of crime yet again last month, robbed of two money bags when she got home from work; the suspect throwing her to the floor and getting away with 900 dollars. He's still on the run.
As for Pollard, his attorney submitted legal arguments for sentencing and he waits in jail until then. Judge Martin ruled a final sentencing for Pollard November 10th.
