COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Eight suspected drug dealers are facing charges in Columbus after officials say thousands of dollars worth of drugs were found in a trailer on the city's south side.

It happened Monday afternoon at a mobile home park on Plateau Drive off Victory Drive.

Members of the Probation Office went to one of the lots looking for an individual living on one of the lots and tell police the front door of the trailer was open as they walked up and they could see people smoking marijuana.

The Columbus Police Department's Special Operations Unit was called to the scene and got a search warrant for the trailer. Inside, members say they found 5.5 pounds of marijuana in bags, with an estimated street value of nearly $23,000.

Four men and four women were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

The suspects will have a preliminary hearing Tuesday at 2PM in Columbus.
