COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus teenager is recovering after being shot in a local park.

It happened around 5:30 PM Wednesday in Enoch Park in East Columbus.

The 18-year-old victim tells police he was walking in a open field through the park with two friends and when they heard a gunshot, they all started to run.

That's when the teen felt a sharp pain and realized he had been shot in the back of his left thigh.

The three ran to the corner of Ruben Street and Enoch Drive and a neighbor called police.

The victim was taken to the Medical Center for treatment.

The teen and his friends say they did not see who shot at them or where the shot came from.
