PHENIX, AL (WTVM) - A stranger exposes himself to three young children in Phenix City while they wait for their father in the parking lot of a store. It's a story that shocked the community and has a family searching for the man who exposed himself to three children.
The victims' father speaks only to WTVM about the traumatic event that happened to his kids, "Both of them said this is the most uncomfortable and the most scared they've ever been in their lives. This is a life changing event for me and my family."
When this father, who wants to protect the identity of his three victimized children, ran into the store last Wednesday night, he had no idea the lives of his kids would be changed. They tell him a man exposed himself to them while they were waiting in the parking lot.
The father told News Leader Nine, "It was a white Chevy truck, he was a white man between 40 and 45, clean cut, he looked like a professional family man. He was wearing a gray shirt and a gray hat with writing on it, blue khaki pants and Sperry shoes. He opened the car door like he was going to approach the vehicle."
The young children say when they became alarmed the suspect hopped back in his truck, but that's when they say the man started to become threatening.
His children recalled, "He opened the door again, pulled out his male part and began rubbing himself like he was masturbating in front of my son. My daughter saw it and she was disgusted and she said this behavior was directed at my son and not her."
At that time the father came out of the store and the suspect started driving off. He followed the car while calling police, but eventually the suspect got away.
"I'm thankful I was here in the time I was, but I don't want it to happen to anyone else or any physical harm brought on anyone else and hopefully this will help bring him to justice," he added.
Phenix City Police tell us they need the community's help in tracking down this man. His description is a white man in his early to mid 40's and he was driving a white pick-up truck. He was last seen at the Fred's store on Highway 80 West in Phenix City.
