COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Columbus Police are searching for a masked gunman who robbed a restaurant on the city's north side.

It happened Friday morning, just after midnight at the Outback in the Landings Shopping Center off of Whitesville Road. The restaurant was closed and employees were still cleaning up. Investigators say the gunman waited out back for someone to take out the trash, got inside, robbed the place and got away with cash.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5'5-5'10, 160-175 lbs. wearing a black ski mask with the eye holes only, a black sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, black pants and black gloves and carrying a silver pistol.

Police say someone saw an 80s model hunter green Ford pickup truck with an extended cab and no tag in the corner of the parking lot a few hours before the robbery. Police are not sure if it was involved in the crime.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.
