Daughter Gives the Gift of Life to Her Mother

WTVM first introduced you to Venita Wallace nine months ago. After suffering with diabetes for more than fourteen years she was in need of a kidney transplant. Because of the strong family history of diabetes, family members were intially ruled out as potential donors. But her 26 year old daughter Aubrey Lovett did not give up.

She is healthy and wanted to be her mother's donor. She was tested and doctors recently gave the go ahead for Aubrey to donate a kidney to her mother. The family, from Waverly Hall is hoping the transplant will happen in the next few weeks. But before the surgery can even be scheduled, they must raise several thousand dollars for post transplant medications.

They have scheduled a fundraiser this Friday night. It's called the Mommie and Me Walk. And it will be held at the Walking Trail in Waverly Hall, Friday, November 19, 2010.

The event will run from 7 pm to 7am. For more information on registration call Aubrey Lovett at 706-4-5-1984 or Venita Wallace at 706-582-2804. You can also contact them at venita95@yahoo.com.
