COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Officials now know the name of the man whose body was found on the Columbus Riverwalk.
Fifty-six-year-old Jan Carter Williams, a homeless man, was found dead behind the Columbus Civic Center and Golden Park baseball field by people walking along the Riverwalk Monday morning.
Police say Williams was found face down in the grass close to the river and it appears he was riding a bike, hit an embankment and rolled down the hill.
Williams, whose last known address is Newnan, Georgia, had several health problems, according to Columbus investigators.
His body has been sent to the state crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
