Children to take part in Reindeer Run Saturday

COLUMBUS, GA - More than 700 local children are expected to take part in the annual Reindeer Run scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11.

The event, hosted by Country's Barbecue and presented by Neonatology Associates of Columbus and Rivertown Pediatrics, is a local race for pre-K through 8th grade students that benefits Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center.

The one-mile race will begin at 9 a.m. at Country's Barbecue on Broadway (1329 Broadway).  All participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt, and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers from each age category.

Day-of-event registration begins at 7:30 a.m.; pre-registrants may pick up their numbers beginning at 8 a.m.

The Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center was established in 1995.  Since then, it has raised more than $3 million. 

Every dollar raised by Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center stays in the community to help children treated at the hospital.

The Medical Center is one of 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals in North America and only one of six hospitals in Georgia.
