COLUMBUS (WTVM) - Columbus Police are searching for a man accused of assaulting the owner of a Columbus assisted living facility.

Columbus police say officers were dispatched to Loving Care Assisted Living on Alton Street in Columbus just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, they found the owner, Tina Drakeford, 71, bleeding with injuries to the head and neck.

Drakeford claims Tyrone Duncan, 57, entered the facility using force and assaulted the senior citizen.

"He was standing there with the refrigerator door open and I said what are you doing? What do you want? He didn't say anything. He just looked at me," Drakeford said.

"And as he went to hit me in the face, quick reflexes and the grace of God, I ducked," Drakeford said.

Duncan allegedly took several food items and left.

Columbus Police are investigating and have not yet arrested Duncan in the case.
