MONTGOMERY, AL (AP) - A major interstate highway widening and resurfacing project on Interstate 65 in Montgomery has been finished in time for holiday traffic.
State Transportation Director Joe McInnes announced Monday that the $110 million project that began in 2006 has been completed. It added two lanes to I-65 through Montgomery and resurfaced the existing lanes. McInnes says it will reduce rush hour congestion and improve travel on 1 of the state's busiest interstate corridors.
He said the Department of Transportation has also expanded its Highway Advisory Radio coverage on I-65 and I-85.
